Does Novell GroupWise replace the message store for
Unity?
No, the configuration of Unity is unchanged, voicemail messages are
still stored in the Unity message store. GW-Unify copies voicemail messages to
GroupWise and synchronizes their status between the Unity message store and
GroupWise.
Can I easily uninstall GW-Unify?.
Yes. There are two ways to uninstall. You can uninstall just the
services (leaving the event sinks) or you can uninstall the entire program.
Why would I want to leave the event sinks?
If you were uninstalling for troubleshooting purposes but wanted
messages to be delivered to GroupWise after troubleshooting, you can leave the
event sinks in place.
What happens if I forget to remove the event sinks?
If the event sinks are left on, voice mail messages and events will
accumulate on the hard drive. Available disk space will be reduced until the
services are restarted.
Can I add new users while the application is
running?
Yes. You can add new users while the application is running, but the services
must be re-started to begin delivery for the new users.
What is the message flow from Unity to GroupWise?
When a voice mail is created, it is turned into an e-mail message and
sent to the corresponding GroupWise email account. When that message is
accessed or deleted from the GroupWise account, the voicemail message in Unity
is then updated with the status change.
What technologies does GW-Unify use?
It utilizes GroupWise and Microsoft.Net technologies.
What happens to my messages if GroupWise services
are temporarily not available?
If GroupWise goes offline, (either for pre-planned maintenance or because of
system issues unrelated to GW-Unify) phone messages will still be accessible
from the Telephone User Interface. (Desktop phone or SoftPhone) Once the
GroupWise server is back on line, messages that came in during the time that
the GroupWise service was offline will then also flow through into email in
boxes.
